Evolution Of Auto Lights

Oct 31, 2019

1987

When a driver lost his way in the dark wilderness, a farmer led him home with a lantern.

1898

Boston held the first automobile exhibition in the United States. The Columbia automobile used the

electric lamp as the front lamp and tail lamp, and the lamp was born from then on.

At first, the headlights could not be dimmed, so they were dazzling when meeting. In order to

overcome this disadvantage, an additional photometric regulator was used later. The headlight can be

moved vertically, but the driver has to get out of the car and move the fixture.

1916

a man named C. h. Thomas in the United States put a battery light bulb on his gloves in order to let

the driver of the other side see his gestures at night, and the turn signal light came on stage humorously.

1938

The Buick car manufacturer offered the cornering lamp as an optional accessory, but at that time,it was

only installed at the rear of the car. After 1940, the front of the car was also equipped with turn signal

lights, and the signal switch had the function of adjusting at any time. In 1906, for the first time in

theworld, a battery powered lamp was used for lighting.

1909

Acetylene lamp was used as a dimmer for the first time.

1916

Driving lights were used in the United States.

1920

General motors first installed the interior lamp.

1926

General Motors moved the headlamp dimmer switch from the steering wheel to the floor.

1938

The first closed interior lamp was used.
